The Oinousses Maritime Museum, established in 1991, carries on the legacy of the Oinousses Gallery, founded after World War II. Originally showcasing paintings of Oinousian ships by folk artist Aristides Glykas, the Gallery eventually moved to its current location and expanded in the late 1980s. This transformation included a complete renovation, new collections, and a shift to a non-profit organization.

Today, the Museum offers a comprehensive look at the island’s maritime history. Visitors can explore exhibits showcasing everything from 19th-century sailboats to modern cargo ships. The Museum also caters to students with educational programs and organizes events celebrating maritime traditions, arts, and environmental awareness.
