The unique beach of Mavra Volia or Mavros Gialos can be seen shortly after following the narrow road from the picturesque harbor of Emporios. It is a small port which has become famous because of the seasides of Mavra Volia. It is one of the most spectacular beaches, characterized by the large black pebbles created by the lava of the volcano Psaronas which is now dormant. After Mavra Volia, Foki beach has the same characteristics. The view is spectacular and the water is crystal clear. Swimming in Mavra Volia is an experience not to be missed!
